Our new custom girls!

This was love at first sight. The minute I laid eyes on her I was in love and I knew she had to come and live with us. I am unbearably broke though and had to scrape all my money together this morning to pay for her. It is worth it though she is just too pretty and I love her clothes. I can't wait for her to arrive. Oh now we have to find new names for both of them!

Oh we are very excited to welcome to new girls to our home very soon. The first little one is a gift from my baby son to me and hopefully she will be here before Christmas. We think she is just gorgeous. These were her promotional shots on Ebay and take by her creator the very sweet and kind *Ice.

Introducing the ladies: Miss Holly Hepburn

Miss Holly Hepburn

Holly Hepburn was the very first doll I could afford. I was desperate to start a collection but was unsure about Blythe because she is quite expensive. Of course once the addiction takes hold mere moolah takes a backseat to food, clothing and other ordinary needs. When she arrived it was love at first site and she very special to me. She traveled to Italy with us and had an absolute ball until she lost her arm. Traffic and pedestrian crossings in Naples is, to say the least, petrifying. Every time you cross the road you take your life in your own hands. We decided that if anywhere this is where Holly lost her arm. Once back on African soil I ordered her a brand new body with a tremendously ample pair of boobies. Unfortunately her little head was way to big for the body so for a whole month she sat propped up in bed. No one looked her in the eye anymore so she asked for a breast reduction and yet another body was ordered. This body fit but still her little head wobbles all over the place - she jokingly refers to herself as Noddy. Needles to say little Holly is by now very depressed. A 27cm body was ordered this morning and hopefully we will have more luck this time. I feel so sorry for her because she is so adventurous and fun loving. Hopefully the body replacement will arrive soon. Here is a bit more about Miss Holly our own Ms. Personality.

Colors: Rainbow colors but most of all pink, and especially cerise pink

Pets: A Garden Gnome named Hitch. He travels with her and loves posing for pictures. He requires no feeding and can hide in her luggage. He snores terribly and Holly pinches his nose to make him stop, usually he grumbles turns around and the snoring stops.

Likes: Telling jokes and funny stories, the way her tummy feels when she laughs, Juan's giggle, hiding behind things and surprising people, watching people open gifts, suitcases with wheels, no weight restrictions, anything first class, DK travel guides, friendly natives, limited foreign vocabulary

Dislikes: Knock knock jokes, fumbling around in the dark, people who don't return books, Rome airport, rude customs officials, waiting, grumpy natives, the dreadful exchange rate, a travel budget, food she does not recognize.

Introducing the ladies: April Moonpie

April Moonpie

April was the first young miss to move down to sunny South Africa and to come and live in our house. She was new NRFB and was received with much excitement and enthusiasm. She has her own unique personality as does every Blythe and here is more about her:

Pets: A newt named Nudgent. April feeds him by hand and he loves only her, everyone else is treated with huffy disdain.

Favorite colour: Black, Midnight black, Black Velvet, in fact all shades of black.

Likes: Gloomy damp castles, Wuthering Heights, rainy days, reading, Turner, the smell of oil paint, a blank canvas, being the first one to use a new soap, Earl Grey tea and shortbread, water on glass.

Dislikes: Singing in the rain, splashing in puddles, mud, cold eggs, scratchy blankets, a blank canvas, when people move her stuff and bouncy individuals. She especially dislikes it when anyone asks her what she is working on.

Introducing the Ladies: Anusha Ashley-Rose

Anusha Ashley-Rose

This is not my photo, it was taken by her creator "Jenny"

She came to us by accident. I placed a bid on E-bay and left for Italy completely forgetting about my bid for her. In a deep funk at Rome Airport (also known as the Hobo's Armpit of Europe) I read a mail asking if I still wanted her. I was shocked but once I regained a connection and sanity two days later and realized how lovely
she was - I was thrilled.

Favorite colour: Gold, Silver, White and all the gem stones of course

Pets: A snow white monkey called Raisen and a rare white tiger called Manindra, give to her by a Indian Prince on her 5th birthday. The tiger lives free in the wild but responds to Anusha's call when she visits and purrs when she tickles his tummy.

Likes: Vanilla and Lemon Sorbet, cashmere, satin, roses, very expensive champagne, being driven by her chauffeur Miles Mince while listening to songs from the 40's and 50's, taking the lift to the top of strange buildings and taking pictures of strange views.

Dislikes: Wearing tinsel on her head at parties, talking to strangers, pouring a drink in a dark kitchen and carrying her own parcels ( she has Miles for that). She hates standing or dancing "in line", sour sweets and sticky fingers.
